Academic Structure

Bachelor Education >

The bachelor education takes three years. Additionally, six months of internship are to be completed. During this time, 180 credit points must be earned. Entrance into the first semester is only possible in the fall. With the appropriate prior qualifications, entry into a more advanced semester is also possible in the spring. The language of instruction is German. The successful completion of the course of study results in award of a Bachelor of Science ETH in Architecture (BSc ETH Arch).

Master Education >

The master education lasts two years and should be supplemented with an additional six-month internship period. A total of 120 credit points must be obtained. Entry into the programme is only possible in the fall. Instruction occurs mainly in German, but courses in English are also offered. Upon completion of the programme, students receive a Master of Science ETH in Architecture (MSc ETH Arch).

Master of Advanced Studies (MAS)>

The continuing education programme of the Master of Advanced Studies ETH provides the opportunity to specialize in a variety of subjects. The ETH Masters programme offers three, independent MAS ETH course of studies (http://www.zfw.ethz.ch/services/master_EN). Within the MAS ETH ARCH, five specializations are possible.

Doctoral Studies >

A doctorate can be obtained within a maximum of six years at various institutes of the D-ARCH. It is possible to begin doctorate studies at any time in the academic year. In order to arrange a thesis supervisor, please contact the appropriate chair directly. The doctoral programme concludes with the title Dr. sc ETH Zurich.
