Project mobility students
If you are coming to ETH Zurich to work on a project (Bachelor's/Master's/Diploma thesis or a research project) and have already found a supervisor at the Department of Architecture, please find all information the website for
Design studios (courses "architectural design V-IX") at the D-ARCH are courses and not projects!*
Performance assessments / evaluation of the project / thesis
From the Fall Semester 2019 onwards invited visiting students must register such work in myStudies by enrolling in the corresponding project related course units (please enter the duration, title and choose the supervisor who has agreed in advance to oversee your work).
The project course units (see course catalogue) are available for work units of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 60 credits. One month of full-time work equals 5 credit points.
In principle, several units can be combined (e.g. 30 credits plus 10 credits for a project of 8 months full time), however, generally speaking, the same course unit cannot be used/recognized more than once.
The course units are graded by the supervisor (edoz).
Names of course units (in course catalogue): <<Number>> Credit Project (example: 30 Credit Project).
Additionally, you may ask your supervisor to provide a detailed evaluation for the project / thesis by means of an Downloadexamination report (PDF, 724 KB)vertical_align_bottom (if required by your home university). The examination report does not replace the transcript of records but supplements it and is also an official document.
Course attendance beside the project work
A research project usually is a full-time work. In addition, individual courses can be done if the duration and time period you are staying correspond.
You are allowed to do a maximum of 10 ECTS with course work!
* Project mobility students usually work on their projects; they are not allowed to participate in a design studio (courses "architectural design V-IX")!
