Giancarlo Mazzanti is a Colombian architect. He graduated from Javeriana University in Bogotá with a postgraduate degree in architecture history and theory, and has a qualification in industrial design from the University of Florence.
Most of his architectural work has social values at its core, and features projects which empower transformations and build community. His most relevant projects are the Convention Center, the Biblioteca España and the South American Games Coliseums in Medellín, Colombia; the Tercer Milenio Park and, more recently, Jardín Social Porvenir in Bogotá; Jardín Social Timayui in Santa Marta; and the Velodrome in Medellín.
Mazzanti has taught at various Colombian universities and at some of the most prestigious American universities, such as Princeton University and Harvard Graduate School of Design. He has received several national and international awards and distinctions.
