National Centres of Competence in Research (NCCR) promote long-term research projects in areas of vital strategic importance for the development of science in Switzerland, for the economy of the country, and for Swiss society. NCCRs promote research of outstanding, internationally recognized quality and enable knowledge and technology transfer.
The D-ARCH has done pioneering work in digital fabrication over the last years. The idea behind the Digital Fabrication NCCR is to develop new approaches for research and construction practices.
The Future Cities Laboratory (FCL) is a transdisciplinary research programme focused on sustainable urbanisation on different scales in a global perspective. FCL is the first research programme of the Singapore-ETH Centre for Global Environmental Sustainability (SEC) in Singapore, which was established as a collaboration between the National Research Foundation of Singapore and ETH Zurich in 2010 and was co-initiated by the ETH departments of Architecture (DArch) and Civil Engineering (DBaug).
