The Greenfield Design Prize
Morph My City Challenge (MMCC) is a two-part innovation competition that will encourage and reward radical new approaches to sustainable urban planning. The Challenge consists of twoprizes, both calling for innovative solution for sustainable designing problems. The Prizes are internationally advertised and are set up to draw the most innovative solutions from around the world.
TheGreenfield Design Prize calls upon innovators from around the world to put their spin on sustainable urban design and come up with an entirely new neighbourhood based on an empty plot of land in the City of Regina. The Prize is mainly aimed at students and university teams and is a great opportunity to put theory into practise and offers the chance of making a difference.
The winner will be rewarded with a $10,000 cash prize.

53 projects set to compete in global phase of Holcim Awards
Global prizes for sustainable construction projects shining a light on innovative solutions worldwide
Leading sustainable construction projects from around the world are set to compete in the global phase of the Holcim Awards in 2012. The projects that received Holcim Awards Gold, Silver, or Bronze in each of the five regions of the world are automatically qualified for the Global Holcim Awards 2012. The 15 Global Holcim Awards finalists include projects from Belgium, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Canada, Chile, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, Thailand, and the USA, and involve additional project teams from Austria, France, Spain and the UK. In addition, all prize-winning projects at the regional level (including 38 Acknowledgement and "Next Generation" winners) will automatically compete for up to three Global Holcim Innovation prizes – which focus upon contributions to innovative building materials and construction technologies in the context of sustainable construction.
Each of the finalist teams is invited to prepare a more extensive submission that will be evaluated by the Global Holcim Awards jury headed by Enrique Norten, Principal and Founder of TEN Arquitectos (Mexico/USA), and the Holcim Innovation prize jury headed by Harry Gugger, Professor of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC), École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. Winners of the global prizes will share in USD 500,000 in prize money. Results will be announced in April 2012. In the regional phase of the 3rd International Holcim Awards competition, a total of 53 leading-edge projects from 29 countries shared USD 1.5 million in prize money in 2011. Following an evaluation process by independent juries in five regions of the world, the winning projects and their design teams were celebrated by receiving Awards, Acknowledgement and "Next Generation" prizes at ceremonies in Milan, Washington, Buenos Aires, Casablanca, and Singapore.

Global Award for the very best in Interior and Architecture
The renowned architectural magazine AIT exists since 120 years – always having outstanding Interior design projects as well as high quality architecture in the field of vision.
Who else if not the architecture magazine AIT could look for the “best of the best” – and ascertain the global „State of the Art“ of interior design and architecture with the newly created AIT Award? With the AIT Award we now start a new competition with a particular high profile. Year after year we will from now on look for, find and acknowledge the best architecture and most outstanding interior design projects – in Europe, America, Asia and all other regions of the world.
All sorts of architecture and interiors in different categories can be submitted, from the classical residential building to home interiors through to the opera house, from small showroom to shopping centre through to museum. In addition to project related categories, two special prizes for the „Next Generation“ (architects under 40) and „Charity“ are awarded.
A jury consisting of internationally renowned architects and interiors designers as Bostjan Vuga, Inès Lamunière, Jasmin Grego, Hilde Léon, Mikko Heikkinen, Mark Blaschitz, Bert Haller, Hans Ibelings will reward the best project in each of the 20 categories. The award ceremony and the AIT Award exhibition will take place during the Light + Building 2012 trade fair in Frankfurt.
The competition is open to architects, interior designers and design professionals as intellectual authors of the submitted projects. Building owners and product manufacturers may also submit entries, provided they state the names of the architects, interior designers and design professionals responsible for the project in question. A maximum of five projects per entrant may be submitted - not more than two in the same category. The projects must have been completed after 31.12.2008. There is no charge for entering the competition.
